Stock Pot - A Brief History

The history of the stock pot is not nearly as ancient as one would think. Cooking vessels were a very slow but necessary part of the evolution of humanity. While early man used reeds, turtle sheets, mollusks and the stomach from animals to heat their food, the evolution to pottery was a slow process. Pottery allowed the containment of the food substances over a slow and low fire. Pottery cracks when it is super heated. Even modern pottery is reserved for slow cooking. No Open fires please! It was not until the development of bronze and iron that pots made of metal became another choice. Found in Medieval kitchen was a cauldron similar to modern stock pots. A cauldron had a rounded bottom and a curved handle which hung over an open fire. Cauldrons or kettles were used for cooking or boiling liquids. Cauldrons' fell out of favor when they became a symbol of witch craft and the requirement of an open fire.

Stock pots are round, with a flat bottom and handles on either side. A lid is a helpful accessory. Rounded handles become hot when cooking making them less useful then the side top handles sported on modern stock pots. Stock pots are made from a small range of modern metals. Metals useful for pots conduct heat well and are chemically not reactive. Food should not taste like the pan, nor should the qualities of the metal become a part of your diet. Metals that have been used over time is aluminum, copper, cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, enamel cast iron, enamel over steel, clad iron or copper, and metal featuring nonstick interiors.

While stainless steel has many great qualities heat conduction is not one of them. A good stainless steel pot should have another more heat conducting metal on the base of the pot.

In construction a stock pot is similar to a large sauce pot. A sauce pot is as tall vertically as the diameter of the bottom. Saucepots are measured by volume. The smaller the sauce pot the more likely it will have just one handle, much longer handle. Stock pots are much larger with two handles on either side in order to use both hands to balance the weight of the pot. Stock pots are also measured by volume usually 6 to 36 liters. A stock pot sides are at least as large as its diameter allowing for stock to simmer for long periods of time. Stock is created by placing vegetables or meats in a large quantity of water and simmering over a long period of time. The reduction of the liquid creates a rich stock (vegetable or meat) to be used as a base for soups, stews, pot pies, and sauces. Some meats do not lend themselves well to stock like pork because of the greasy quality.

Some recommendations for good stock is to start with cold water, add meat at a ratio of one part meet to two parts water, add meat before the vegetables, simmer with bubbles just breaking the top (not boiling), and scum that comes to the top should be skimmed and discarded.

My Evolution Through Making Healthy Homemade Dog Food

I have always been considered a health nut. And though not the popular opinion in the medical industry I began my career in, it has always been common sense to me that nutrition had to be taken into account when considering health and disease. But it was not and that was just one of the things so frustrating to me about the medical industry.

Because of my strong opinion regarding nutrition when I had my children, I followed what I observed in nature which always provides exactly what is needed with out help from mankind. Thus mother's milk is the obvious answer. Animals do what is natural which works out quite well. When the babies were ready for solid food I blended fruits and vegetables, many from our own garden so I could ensure there were no pesticides but also to save money. And I began introducing foods slowly.

I felt my dogs deserved nothing less and in 1974 researched what historically dogs thrived on. There was not a lot of information available. Yes, kids there was no computer or internet. So I combined facts with instincts. I began with chicken, grilled, roasted or boiled. Then I slowly added steamed vegetables and some grains. And then monitored BMs carefully. If I noticed an unwanted reaction I backed off of that new ingredient.

Initially chicken was the only ingredient and then slowly, very slowly I added one ingredient at a time. Once I determined what they tolerated and thrived on and you know how much they should eat, you have your diet for that dog. I learned the hard way what was too much because some if not most dogs will overeat and dog lovers know what happens when they overeat.

At that time, I really didn't know if dogs should have grains or vegetables but I focused on high complex carbohydrates. And then found that I could add vitamins and minerals by adding fruits/berries and blend them into the vegetables and grains. You know when your dog loves a recipe so you learn their favorites quite easily. I have always had more than one dog and I might have one dog that loves a recipe and 3 that hate it. But I just right down on the recipe Chienee's favorite, Suede hates this one to keep it straight. And then the final test was to see if it was well tolerated by each dog.

As puppies its a constant change but you get to the point when they are 2 years old and their appetite and needs level out and you have the amount each dog should eat and which recipes each dog loves.

So here are a few recipes that are favorites of my dogs Suede, 17 year old male German Shepherd from my rescue, Coco, 8 year old female, sable Pomeranian, Laci 3 year old female, white Pomeranian and Kashmir, a 2 year old male, white Pomeranian.

Roast Chicken Recipe

Roast Chicken deboned, skin removed including cartilage and knuckles. NO BONES-Zero
long grain brown rice
steamed kale, swiss chard great for inflammation
steamed carrots
sesame oil drizzled over top 1/2 tsp

Whatever the total amount, the division is 3/4 meat (protein) & 1/4 vegetables/grains/fruits blended and mixed together.

So if the dog eats 1 cup of food, 3/4 cup would be shredded meat, 1/4 cup blended veggies/grain/fruit. And mix.

Grilled Recipe

Grilled lamb, chicken or beef kabobs
Barley
cranberries, strawberries or blueberries steamed
Yellow or Zucchini Squash blended with berries
Greek Yogurt just a dollop (1/2 tsp)

Beef Roast

Roast (Crockpot)
Couscous regular
Mixed Vegetables, Carrots, Peas, Green Beans (no corn) Blend and mix with Couscous and Roast
Olive oil drizzled over top 1/2 tsp

LIST OF VARIETY OF INGREDIENTS TO USE

MEAT

chicken
lamb
beef
rabbit

Additional Protein

Salmon mixed with smaller amount of other meats

Boiled egg 1/4 to 1/2 for very small dogs/1 whole for large dogs mixed with main meat

**Now remember! If your dog does not react well to something, don't use it. Eggs are a tricky one. And yes you will have gas but all four of mine love it.

OILS drizzle

Olive Oil
Sesame Oil
Canola Oil
Salmon Oil

GRAINS

Barley
Brown Rice
Lentils
Couscous
Oatmeal
Rye toast
Brewer's Yeast 1/2 tsp

VEGETABLES

Swiss Chard
Kale
Squash
Carrots
Peas
Green Beans
Broccoli (gassy)
Cauliflower
Snow Peas
Grass (yes, grass from the lawn)

FRUIT

Strawberries
Blueberries
Cranberries
Apples
Banana

DO NOT FEED LIST

Grapes
Raisins
Onions (deadly)
Garlic ( accumates)
Raw Eggs (salmanella)
Avocadoes (all parts are toxic)
Chocolate (deadly)
Turkey and Chicken Skin ( nausea)
Aloe Vera
Fruit Pits/Fruit Seeds (most contain cyanide)
Uncooked Bread/Roll dough
Macademia nuts
Mushrooms
Nutmeg
Sugar-free Foods
Alcohol (even beer. I know some dogs like it. But limit their intake)
Fat (too much, especially over short amount of time can be toxic)

Pay close attention to your dogs bowel movements and watch closely for any signs of poisoning.

Some signs of poisoning are:

Abdominal Pain (whine or abdomen tender to touch)
Coma
Convulsions
Diarrhea
Drooling
Foaming at mouth
Irregular Heartbeat
Labored Breathing
Swollen Limbs
Vomiting

Act quickly for immediate treatment of poisoned pet

ASPCA 1-888-426-4435 or Pet Poison Hotline 1-800-213-6180

If possible have someone call your vet or the emergency vet and prepare them for your immediate arrival.

Evolution on a Ladies Bike

Recently there has been a great deal of talk about caveman health, or how evolution has designed us to be healthy with certain kinds of food and exercise. The basic premise is that we are substantially the same physically as our ancestors ten thousand years ago. This was before humanity took up agriculture and basically scavenged, gathered and hunted for food.

So our ancestors would wonder around looking for food, with occasional bursts of high energy activities such as chasing after animals, fighting or even running away from predators.

From an exercise point of view this means we are best suited to low energy activities interspersed with short bursts of high energy actions.

How can we use this on our bikes? Let me say right away that we are talking about "cycling bikes" here not the sort you sit on and the engine does all of the work for you!

We all know that cycling can be fun, good for our health and good for the environment; you can even use it for getting from A to B. To improve your fitness you should firstly cycle as much and as regularly as possible. To implement the Evolution on a ladies bike method you should cruise along but then burst as fast as you can for one min. Slow to an easier pace for at least 3mins and repeat. Make sure you are in a safe area to do the burn part, maybe a park or a traffic free cycle way is perfect. Recent research has shown that only 3 repetitions of the burn phase a day can improve the health of your heart and lungs.

We sell only the best ladies bikes at our store. So if you are looking for a ladies bike pay us a visit.

Do We Need Proof That Humans Are Better Than Animals

Many believe that humans are more than just a cut above animals; in fact they believe humans are so special that they are indeed divine. Who makes these claims; Humans of course and it makes sense. But if your dog could talk he would say you are nothing more than a two-legged dog and really you are not worth much more than dog crap as far as he is concerned. When was the last time you took him to the park to play Frisbee?

Do we need proof that Humans are better than Animals? Should we do a study? A survey or simply ask the other species what they think of all our BS? We already know what your dog thinks now and the pigeons made it pretty clear on your car this morning?

Actually you know, personally I am quite satisfied with my observations that Humans are Animals and in all my years of observing humans and their behavior and tracing back the causes, I see nothing uniquely different from "most" all of them. Although during my life experience I have indeed met some standouts, which seemed quite ahead of the game; that is to say the observational average human in society and their cognitive abilities.

In the end humans are merely animals, no better no worse, except maybe if you are the environment, then of course from your perspective humans suck and big time. Should we let humans do a study to determine if humans are better than animals and deserving of their own category? If so who should we let do the study; certainly not humans after all you cannot trust them like you can trust your dog's honest opinion of the situation. Consider this in 2006.

The Zoo is the Place, and the Animal at the Animal Theme Party is You!

An Animal theme party is always a hit, especially during off-peak seasons, such as the autumn of the year, when the heat is off. The key a successful animal theme party at the zoo is planning. Consult the zoo administrator, ahead of time to determine what is allowed, confirm that the zoo allows parties, and see if a zoo official can act as tour guide, so you can concentrate on keeping your little animals in line. You will definitely need help, so enlist the aid of several parents, and/or your spouse, to help setting up, keeping track of the guests, and cleaning up after the party. Sometimes teenagers are very good at this, and tend to work pretty inexpensively, if you need to bring in hired hands to corral the 'wildlife'.

Either hire someone (or find a volunteer) to paint animal faces on the guests as they arrive, and be sure parents know when and where to pick up their little 'animals' when the party is over. Have sandwiches, chips, fruity drinks and, of course, cake, available. If the zoo allows it, you can set up the coolers with spouts and throw away paper cups (near trash bins) so that there are plenty of 'watering holes' available during the tour.

In respect for animals living in the zoo, I don't recommend noise makers during the party. Party goers can tour the zoo, while you take Polaroid snapshots for 'animal' guests to take back to their own 'lair' when they leave the zoo.

Identifying pre recorded animal sounds (if your guests are too young to read and write, you can always have animal photos for them to choose which animal made the sound) with the matching the most animals to their sounds, being named King (or Queen) of the jungle. Party 'animals' can be given goodie bags filled with party favors, as their parents pick them up to leave. Some good choices would be animal printed pencils, erasers, animal cards or posters, and the snapshots from your animal theme party.

Pokemon Eevee Evolution Collection - How Can I Find Them?

The Pokemon Eevee evolutions are probably the most popular characters around. The eight little characters have captured the hearts of adoring fans all over the world. Eevee, Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, and Leafeon have become every childs obsession. But with so many people wanting them, how can I find them? And what items are out there?

Due to their popularity, the Eevee evolution characters have become quite difficult to obtain. Since everyone wants these specific eight Pokemon characters, they have become expensive and hard to find. Take Umbreon for example. The beautiful black cat is probably the most popular of the bunch. Prices for anything with Umbreon on can be rather high. Whether its little mini Chupa pop figures, Keshipoke figures, canvas plush toys, Pokedolls, stuffed toys, tshirts, or Pokemon cards, you will probably have to pay quite a bit to get your hands on them.

So, what kind of merchandise is out there and how can I get it?

There is quite a few Pokemon items with the Eevee evolution characters. Most of these items come from Japan. The Japanese items are much better quality and since Pokemon is a Japanese anime, its natural that most of the items come from Japan.

POKEDOLLS
In 2008, the Pokemon Centers in Japan made the Pokedoll stuffed toy. The set consisted of the eight evolutions, Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Eevee, and Leafeon. They quickly sold out. They were then released in the USA for a brief time and of course, sold out very fast. Then in December, 2009, Pokemon Centers in Japan re-released the evolution Pokedolls. Again in very small quantities. Once again they sold out in a matter of days. You can find these items on Ebay, but be careful, as there are many bootleg or counterfeit items. You are almost always safe buying from a Japanese seller, as they are honest and of course they are made in Japan, so your chances are much better of getting a real one.

CANVAS PLUSH
In 2009, the Pokemon Centers in Japan made the canvas beanbag stuffed toy. The set consisted of the eight evolutions, Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Eevee, and Leafeon. They sold out in a matter of days. They are smaller than a Pokedoll and have a small amount of beans inside. These are very cute, as they have legs and are more accurately shaped like the characters. These were not released in the USA or anywhere outside of Japan. The prices are skyrocketing on them. They used to be about $20 when they came out. Now expect to pay near $60 a piece for them.

CHARMS, KEYCHAINS AND STRAPS
There have been some keychains of some of the evolution characters like Umbreon over the years, but these have become nearly impossible to find and can range up to $200 each. In 2009, the Pokemon Centers in Japan released the Pokemon Time mobile phone straps. Of the evolutions, only Umbreon, Eevee, and Espeon were made. Umbreon sold out in days, while the other two sold out in weeks. Also in 2009, there was a set of 6 charms that included Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Eevee. Glaceon and Leafeon were left out of this set.

CARDS AND STICKERS
There have been many Japanese Pokemon Eevee evolution cards and stickers released over the years. Most of the cards range about $5-10 and stickers $1-5. The exception is some of the old Bandai cards. Back in 1997 when Pokemon first came out, they released some sticker cards. They are like cards, but actually have stickers on the front that you can peel off. Some of these can get expensive. Usually they cost about $30-150, depending on the character and condition of the card.

Now the tricky part, how can one obtain these treasures?

There is always Ebay, but personally I prefer to avoid it due to the number of bootleg items that are currently being sold. Your best chance is some of the smaller, personal sites where the seller is located in Japan. There are only a handful of sites that are in English, so it makes it diffiucult if you cant read Japanese. Also most Japanese sites will not send internationally.

Getting the Eevee evolution items is tricky and usually very expensive. Buying as soon as they come out is the best bet. Almost always the price increases as time goes by. Good luck in your quest. Gotta have them all.

Evidence For Evolution - Endogenous Retroviruses

Of all the evidence for evolution, some of the most compelling and irrefutable are the endogenous retroviruses. These are viruses that have embedded their code into germ line cells (sperm and egg) and thus become inactive but pass along their genetic information by inheritance. They act as genetic fingerprints that can indicate how closely related two organisms are.

Think of an incident of plagiarism; one author accuses another of plagiarizing his work due to similarities between the two. Is it an open and shut case? Not necessarily; it could be that the two just arrived at the same idea at the same time. However, one piece of evidence that would prove plagiarism is shared typos: if one author misspelled a word and the alleged plagiarist has the same error in his work, it would be strong evidence that the accused party had copied the words of the other, mistakes and all.

This is similar to how endogenous retroviruses work. At some point in the distant past, an ancestor organism was infected by a virus which then attacked and embedded itself in the reproductive cells, and became inactive as a virus. It's code was then passed on to the offspring, which continued to pass this genetic "typo" on to all of its ancestors.

Humans share several of these ERVs in common with chimpanzees, in the same place on the genome, in the same order. We share less with gorillas as they are more distantly related. And less still with orangutans and Old World monkeys as they are even less distantly related.

Family trees of organisms are built using ERV data, and the trees match up with the data from the fossil record. This is incontrovertible evidence for common ancestry; humans and chimps share an ancestor about 6 million years ago, regardless of fossils found.

And other animals ERV family trees match up with the fossil record as well. These shared mistakes in the genome present some of the most spectacular evidence and confirmation for the theory of evolution.

Unusual Bean Bags

When we talk about unusual things what comes to our minds are things beyond the norm. It might be that unusual things depict something odd or awkward. Unusual things are said to be different from their usual quality, purpose, looks or appearance. Being unusual has its own ups and downs as it may sacrifice some of its basic characteristics and adapt changes to better serve its purpose. Maybe some of you could consider it an evolution or mutation but constant change takes place during this process. It happens because it needs to adapt. As an example, I can site the example of evolution of animals and how some of them evolved from their original from to adapt to the environment.

In connection to that, not only living things evolve but even inanimate objects can also evolve. The reason for this change is typically some sort of human intervention. Bean bags themselves are already unusual in form and purpose, and function like a chair but look like a huge circular shaped pillow. Maybe some would think of them as huge clouds that you can sit on. Their construction is very odd from a chair unlike any other chair, they do not have any frame to support the person sitting on them, as all it has is cushion.

Since bean bags have been out in the market their manufacturers have done a lot to improve them. They have reinvented them in many ways to serve different demands. They have experimented with different fabrics, they have also altered the sizes and have given some consideration to what target market they are selling to so that they would determine what ages will use these chairs. The shape has also changed quite a bit over time. Even environmentally friendly materials are now being used in bean bags. Whatever a person's purpose may be there is always a bean bag to fit their every need.

Evolution of God

At the beginning of our recorded awareness, we sought direction in and understanding of the world around us. We were like children seeking guidance and craving protection from an all-knowing parent. From this we created our early concept of God.

As we were intimidated and intrigued by the natural phenomena surrounding us, we created Gods to explain the things we could not comprehend or control. When first we endowed those Gods with characteristics, we endowed them with the characteristics of our environment. Gods of weather, animal Gods, Gods of seasons, stars, suns and moons.

Initially, as with most children, we were far more interested in what was around us than with what lay within us. However, as we developed security and awareness within communities, we became more able to look inside, and we started to create Gods that were made more in our own images.

These Gods became the Gods that represented the multifaceted aspects of us both as a species and as individuals, aspects both good and bad. A major shift occurred in the development of a hierarchy and we gave the "Gods in human image" dominion over the "animal" or "environmental" Gods. Eventually these lesser Gods were absorbed. As we conquered the world around us, one set of Gods conquered another.

As our struggles became less to survive in the physical world and more to survive in the human world, less to survive predation from animals and more to survive predation from each other, we endowed our Gods with the capacity to criticize and to judge behavior in humans. Gods who were originally answers to our questions and who gave us some feelings of safety or predictability became Gods who were critical, angry and judgmental - as we were critical, angry, and judgmental.

As the world was increasingly perceived as harsh and unforgiving, the need for absolutes mushroomed: absolute safety, absolute right and wrong, rigid rules for living. From a world that flourished on competitiveness came a competitive God whose goal was to assimilate or destroy any other Gods and the people who believed in them. Eventually there was one God per group, a God who was an absolute God, an unforgiving God as the world was unforgiving, a God who would dominate through a "might means right" mentality. This God was the absolute authority figure. The rules were rigid, the structure implacable and either the punishment or reward eternal.

While the concept of God the absolute authority figure may still prevail in struggling cultures, the image of God evolved as we as a species evolved. Increased oral and written communication enabled us to develop our understanding and awareness of other groups -- and of our own. "Might means right" made less and less moral sense, sacrifice called us to our better and ennobling characteristics and we came to perceive a gentler God, a more forgiving God. We gave God, what we would call now, a good spin. We tried to create a more attractive, more compassionate God, a God people would choose out of love rather than fear. We created a hero, a cause.

We evolved intellectually, emotionally and socially. However, being human, we often fell back on "might means right" when it felt expedient or we felt threatened. As man developed more complex personalities and relationships, God needed to stretch to represent more and more of us. We liked the idea of the one God, but as man had conflicts within himself, so was he having conflicts with his God. Breakdowns happened. We ended up with several different "one Gods". We trotted out what we needed from wherever to justify our thoughts, our decisions, our judgments, our dominion over those who have a lesser God -- might means right all over again.

People now have many choices when it comes to God.  We may find a God who is intellectual or mercenary and we definitely still see competition between Gods. People may seek the authority figure God to govern all their decisions or to justify bullying behavior. We can find the "one God" that is angry and vengeful or even one that is angry and vengeful to our enemies and loving and forgiving to our friends and ourselves.

But for an increasing number of people, the image of God is that of a nurturing, compassionate, forgiving Being who evolves with us and within us -- definitely not an authority figure.

4 Endangered Animals in Need of Protection

Endangered Wildlife: A Global Issue

Across the globe, more and more animal species face extinction. From the rhinos and great apes in Africa, the elephants in Asia, to the tigers in India, animals are becoming increasingly endangered. Conservation organisers have now developed the concept of gap years for adults where people volunteer to do animal conservation work and take some time out from their jobs. Here are just 4 animals in need of a serious wildlife conservation strategy.

Where Have all the Tigers Gone?

It is estimated that there are only about 4000 tigers remaining in the wild worldwide, making them one of the most threatened species. The habitat of the tiger stretches across South East China, and from the Russian Far East all the way to Sumatra in Indonesia. However, tigers can mostly only be found in tiny isolated pockets.

Despite wildlife conservation efforts, tiger population numbers continue to decrease. Tigers are dying because they are being killed for use within the illegal wildlife trade. They are being shot, poisoned and trapped to sell on this market, and it will take the best efforts of those involved with animal conservation work to counter this effect.

The habitat of the tiger is also diminishing because of the expanding human population. The poor local communities also need the land to sustain themselves, and are depleting the vegetation and prey in the tigers' habitat. Wildlife conservation projects will therefore need to carefully consider how to reduce the need of the local populations to depend on the environment in a destructive way.

Rhinos No Longer Roam in the Wild

Almost no rhinos are still found surviving in the wild. But not so long ago, these creatures were roaming across the entire African continent, and the Southern parts of Asia. There are five species of rhino in existence, two of which are indigenous to Africa, and three to Asia. Volunteers involved with animal conservation work are trying hard to preserve all of these species, some of which face imminent extinction.

The northern white rhino is now on the critically endangered list, and a subspecies of the black rhino is now thought to be extinct. There are some wildlife conservation success stories, however, with the populations of the southern white and northern Indian rhinos now on the increase.

The Great Apes Face Extinction

Found in both Africa and Asia, the great apes once had a mighty population. Now, these majestic creatures are under threat, and it will take concerted wildlife conservation efforts to save these gentle giants.

In Africa, bonobos, eastern and western gorillas face losing their habitat to humans. Human action is degrading and fragmenting their habitat, with civil wars making it difficult for volunteers doing animal conservation work to access the areas in need of protection. Poaching and disease is causing a serious threat to the populations, and wildlife conservation efforts need to be somehow increased.

The orang-utan is the only ape found in Asia, with its last remaining habitats being the Sumatran rainforests and the island of Borneo. These areas are diminishing rapidly, because of illegal logging, oil palm plantations and forest fires caused by human activity. A great way to give something back to nature and attempt to reverse human impact is to take a gap year for adults and help save animals such as these.

The Ivory Issue

Elephants were once the giants of the African and Asian continents, but now their numbers are dwindling, and in Asia and they face extinction. Wildlife conservation projects can only do so much to help these creatures, as people continue to illegally poach elephants for their ivory, meat and hides.

In Africa, elephants are primarily poached for their ivory, and poaching, alongside habitat loss, is placing them under threat. Wildlife authorities do not have the capacity to implement adequate wildlife conservation projects on their own, and volunteers to do animal conservation work are in high demand.

Elephants in Asia are nearing extinction, with the remaining elephant populations being small and fragmented. The biggest problem faced in Asia is the disruption and destruction of their migratory routes and habitat. Poachers also have their role to play, with poaching for ivory, meat and hides being widespread.

Mark Bottell is the General Manager for Worldwide Experience, an online tour operator offering extended breaks working on wildlife conservation projects, and gap years for grown-ups.

Altruistic Behavior in Male Social Animals

The postulation of a primary social organism with an identity defined for a population of social animals at the genetic level, independent of the identity of the individual, and with respect to which the individual is an incidental secondary sub-unit is a much more radical and novel conception of the social entity or order in biological evolutionary thought than will be appreciated at first consideration.

A social organismal identity defined (genetically) independent of the genetic identity of the individual and with respect to which the identity of the individual is secondary at the genetic level of its definition suggests a top-down goal oriented architectural order of the genetic information in the evolution of the individual organism with respect to the social order.

We pause to define our terms: A top-down goal oriented synthetic process begins with a "plan" or "blue print" consisting of the "big picture," and then proceeds with fixing the subunits incidental to the overall "plan."

The special significance of our observation of a widespread pattern of "altruistic" behavioral tendencies in male social animals arises from the fact that the entire monumental edifice of the bottom-up model of Darwinian evolutionary thought rests on the single notion that animals, particularly male animals, struggle primarily for bio-genetic reproductive success(the paradigmatic Darwinian "struggle for survival"). The longstanding mass of ethological data indicating a widespread pattern of "altruistic" behavioral tendencies, especially in male social animals must be swept under the carpet for it undermines the entire foundational structure of modern biological evolutionary thought in the speculations of Darwin in his "Origin of Species" (Darwin's Theory of Evolution rests on the central pillar of a notion of struggle for survival among individuals for scarce resource and specifically in the competition among males for sexual access to females).

The mass of ethological data indicating the primacy of the dominance drive over the sex drive, especially in male social animals, arose mostly from the Twentieth Century work of ethologists and were therefore largely unknown to Darwin.

The dominance drive is the only biological drive, as far as we know, which drives the male social animal regularly to "suicidal" behavior. But so strong is the hold of the paradigm of the primacy of the sex drive in male animals that Steven Pinker would state: "...females compete for food; males compete for females," yet observe a few paragraphs later, in his book "How the Mind Works," that the dominance drive, independent of "competition for females" leads young men regularly to senseless "suicidal" behavior.

The young male who dies in a duel to avenge his honor might be mistaken to have died in a Darwinian sexual reproductive struggle to "pass on his genes to the next generation" if competition with another male for access to a lady was the cause of his death. But what of the male(borrowing Pinker's example) who dies in a dwell to avenge his honor over a "trivial" insult in an argument over who gets to use the pools table? What has sexual reproductive success of the male to do with the widespread cultures of "male honor." We all are familiar with the cross-cultural notion that the "real man" is one who would sooner lose everything(including his genetic heritage of millions of years) than live without "honor.": "losing face," status, prestige in the ranks of his colleagues. The subject of contention for "honor" might be a female through whom he may "pass on his genes," or space at pools table on which he had only meant to shoot a billiard ball. It makes no difference to the highly socialized male.

Why do young men live recklessly: duel, commit crimes, "surf the roof of tram cars and elevators," ride fast and dangerously, do dangerous sports of all sorts, drugs...? To pass on their genes to the next generation?

NO!

Rather, to look "cool" in the eyes of their colleagues, gain respect, secure status, prestige. Young males(as Pinker notes), in the global culture of male "arete," discount their future steeply, reckoning generally on a short life, yet make no commensurate efforts at breeding sons while their lives last. Why? Because "honor," is what "real men" live, fight and die for, not possession of the female or sexual reproductive prosperity.

The human cultural ideal of masculine "arete" are the altruistic virtues of the military order which thumbs its nose at death; and the profession of soldiering is the masculine profession par excellence. The military adventurist lifestyle of men like Alexander the Great (who died at thirty in a drunken brawl) is not the profession for those who are anxious to "pass on their genes" to posterity.

The cross-cultural amok phenomenon stares Darwinism in the face: the male who having "lost face" ends the pain of living without honor not in an orgy of reproductive sex but in a coldly calculated and premeditated suicidal orgy of mass death.

Evolution by Natural Selection

The theory of Natural Selection is the belief that individuals within a species survive and thrive according to positive and beneficial traits. The more productive and advantageous qualities an individual has, the better their chances are to survive and propagate within a species. The entities without profitable traits or negative ones will eventually die out. This is the basics of Natural Selection by Survival of the Fittest.

Darwinism

Where trouble crops up is when the foundation of Natural Selection morphs into Darwinism. When Charles Darwin wrote his books On the Origin of Species and The Descent of Man he tried to explicitly leave out a Divine Hand and explain evolution strictly with Natural Selection and Survival of the Fittest. He completely disregarded the possibility of design.

Morality

The biggest problem with the no Creator hypothesis is the question of morality. It's obvious humans possess a morality; therefore it needs to be explained. Darwin argued that morality was only a product of survival of the fittest. He postulated that it was nothing more than the positive behaviors of sociability. Being social was a good thing for humans to have, helping in the survival of the race. As time passes on, the social behaviors for protection and mating become more enhanced and intricate turning into what we now see as morality.

However, believing morality is nothing more than random selection and a merciless survival of the strong leads to some troubling conclusions. If this idea were true, you would have to be ready to rate the inferiority or superiority of races and individuals. Obviously this would lead to condoning and excusing slavery and eugenics. The weak, handi-capped and supposed inferior should be eliminated because they would bring down and hamper the forward progress of the strongest and smartest.

All Reasonable Arguments

To anyone with simple observation skills and a common intelligence it is obvious that this is not how the human race operates. The question of evolution and the origin of life is a hotly debated topic to this day. Although you might not know it by the popular culture, many people and scientists disagree on Darwin's version of Natural Selection and Survival of the Fittest. Reasonable arguments should be included and debated for an honest investigation into the questions around evolution and the origin of life. Evolution by Natural Selection should not be defined by Darwinism, and Intelligent Design should be considered as part of the investigation.

How to Clean Plush Animals Without Damaging Them

More Delicate Toys - Air Vacuuming

The more delicate toys can still quickly become soiled through a lot of loving and hugging. It may be dangerous for some toys to go into the dryer, even on a fluff cycle, because they could be flammable. If your toy needs cleaning but is more fragile than most, consider a treatment that doesn't require water or even heat. Put the toys you wish to clean into a garbage bag, making sure they are loose inside the bag and not squeezed inside. Gently place a vacuum cleaner nozzle at the bag opening and suck the dust and dirt out. When you are done, take the toys out of the bag and freshen them up with a little Febreeze or other fabric spray. If they toys have distended and lost some of their stuffed shape during the process, just fluff them lightly by hand and they will return to their original form. One word of caution - this method only works on regular size stuffed toys since the smallest plush animals could get sucked into the vacuum. You may want to hold the bag lightly just at the end of the vacuum nozzle, keeping it separated from the teddy bear or other plush toy to ensure that the vacuum doesn't grab hold of an eye or nose.

Most Delicate Toys or Well-Worn Antiques - Hand Washing

What if your toy is a valuable antique collectible or a family heirloom or even an older stuffed toy with sentimental value from your childhood? The safest way to clean a plush animal is to hand-wash them. You can either gently wash the whole stuffed animal or just clean up a few stains. Let's say that you have a cute, but well-loved stuffed giraffe with some stains that you would like to remove. Fill the sink with cool water, add a little detergent, soak your plush giraffe for around 15 minutes, then use a toothbrush to gently scrub the stained areas. When you have finished the plush toy's bath, rinse the giraffe until the detergent is gone, squeeze the bulk of the water out of the toy, and then let it air dry. You can also opt to spot clean the stuffed animal without the full bath by dipping a toothbrush into the soapy water and scrubbing just the stains. The soft bristles of a toothbrush will be less likely to damage the toy than a regular brush and you won't have to get the whole plushie wet.

No matter what the condition or delicacy or your plush toy, there is a way to clean and restore it. A good cleaning can prolong the life of your favorite stuffed animal and save it from the trash bin.

The Mentality OF Dogs Is The Same Today As It Was During The Time They Were Pack Animals

To be an effective dog trainer or dog owner for that matter, you need to understand the pack mentality in dogs. To understand dogs mentality we need to go back, way back in time long before dogs were domesticated.

History before the wolves tells us of the large size canid carnivores, the Canid family can be said to be divided into the "wolf-like" and "dog-like" animals of the tribe Canini.

This might suggest the evolution of the wolves, but I are not saying that these were ever domesticated, so I will leave them here.

Some theories on the domestication of dogs have suggested that the domestication of dogs or to be technical Canis lupus familiaris all started from the domestication of the gray wolf being technical again Canis lupus many thousands of years ago.

It is the largest member of the Canid family of wild social predators who lives in the nuclear families, which consist of a male and mate, who together monopolies all the food and rights to breed.

These rights are then passed to their biological offspring and sometimes to their adopted family. They primarily feed on live meat, which they hunt in packs. They are at the apex of most predators within their range, as their only significant threat is from humans and maybe lions and tigers.

According to Archaeological records the earliest known domestication of dogs was at somewhere around 30,000 BC, but for certainty around 7,000 BC.

As far as evidence goes the earliest clear record of domestication is the discovery of the first dog found buried with humans from around 12,000 years ago in Israel in East Asia.

The reason for this little history lesson is to let you know that during these times that these animals lived in packs and that all packs must have a leader or the Alpha.

Despite the fact that dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, they still possess the inherent dog pack mentality associated with the pack.

This ultimately means that your dog considers you and your family to be members of the pack that it is part of. With this dog pack mentality it is only natural that the dog expects that there be an Alpha of the pack.

This is where you the dog owner/trainer comes in, it is vitally important that you take and execute this role effectively. Within a dog pack hierarchy there is no democracy there is only leadership, sit means sit and stay means stay.

If you are not prepared or willing to take this role your dog will, especially if you have a big dog like a Rottweiler who by nature are very dominating.

I know as I have two myself and have raise around 50 pups in the pass 7 years or so and even now the oldest 'Lion' a female still likes to have her own way sometimes.

While the male 'Rock' he tried for a while when he was a puppy when it came to his food. Now he has excepting me as the Alpha.

With a dogs pack mentality they only go after leadership when there see that it is lacking, but they are perfectly happy for you to be the leader.

However, if you allow them to become the leaders you will be in for a lot of problems, from they taking you for a walk to they wrecking your home.

Those in the pack follows the leader with sole intention of pleasing the pack leader, this is how they fulfill their role in the pack.

So it is imperative that you assert yourself as pack leader from day one by establish the rules of the pack.

Understand a dog's pack mentality encompasses the fact that you should be the first to do everything and that you should be the one to initiate everything, e.g. activities.

Understand and accepting the role as pack leader also means that you have the responsibility to treat the pack members with the highest amount of respect and love.

Treating your pack members this way will command loyalty and ultimately your dog will respond very well to your training.

So the moral of the story is that we must understand dogs pack mentality and that you have to be Alpha and be in charge of your pack. Dogs need you to be a leader, so you job is to learn how to be an Alpha of your pack.

They are inherently a social pack animal and they have a dog pack hierarchy structured of leadership with the dominant or Alpha dog at the top of the pack this is you.

If you are thinking of getting a Rottweiler puppy or you recently got one, then you need to start its training ASAP. If you need help with training your Rottweiler puppies I would invite you to {you guessed it} go here NOW Training Rottweiler Puppies There you will get the help that you and your puppy needs. The Blue Hermit Crab Evolution

Blue hermit crab is mostly found in the shallow waters of the Caribbean Sea. They are crabs that are blue in colour on legs and eyes while the limbs have red spots. These kinds of crab add a lot of decoration to your tank that is why most people collect lots of crabs with colours like this in their tanks thus it has also the ability to clean up tanks by eating green hair algae and cyan bacteria that are mostly present in your tanks. Blue hermit crab is said to be popular and cheap aquarium specimen that most people love to buy nowadays.

Maintaining the required temperature and salinity level of the tank makes blue hermit crabs healthy. The required temperature is between 71 and 76 degree Fahrenheit while the salinity level is 1.022 and 1.024. You can also put a heater to maintain the required heat your crab needs in order to survive. Provide also extra shells for them just like other hermit crabs to keep them happy and healthy after molting. Make sure to supply them with lots of seaweeds and algae for them to eat because when it starves it may attack and eat the snails in your tank.

Keeping hermit crabs healthy is maintaining a balanced diet for them by giving those dried seaweeds and algae to keep them active and healthy as well. Give them also varieties of food such as brine shrimp and other saltwater hermit crab food. In giving seaweeds, make sure to place the seaweeds on the sand to make it easier for them to eat it. Foods of hermit crabs can be purchased online and it is widely available in pet stores so you won't have problems on supplying their everyday food to keep them healthy. When buying blue hermit crabs at pet stores; remember always to look for crabs with blue legs and red spots on limbs.

These are some of the details you have to know about blue hermit crabs. Buy some now and experience the benefit it will bring in your tanks for they are worth buying for indeed because this is the day of the blue hermit crab evolution.

Origins of the Concept of Culture

Herodotus, a Greek historian who lived in the 5th century B.C., gave us one of the first accounts about culture. He wrote at length about his travels throughout the Persian Empire, which included parts of Asia and Africa and much of Middle East. He wrote about the cultural and racial diversity of these regions, noticing the different ways people lived in certain regions as compared to people who lived in others. Due to Herodotus' account, many people attributed cultural diversity to racial differences.

From the 5th century to the 15th century, European countries began sending out explorers throughout the world in search of new sources of goods and other materials. The resulting contacts with other cultures sparked the Europeans' interest in cultural diversity.

The English word "culture" came into use during the Middle Ages; it comes from the Latin word for cultivation, as in raising food crops. We can say, then, that the idea for the word originally referred to people's role in controlling environment.

By the 18th century, many European scientists and philosophers believed that culture had gone through several progressive stages of development. Edward Tylor, a British anthropologist, was among the firsts to broach the idea of cultural evolution. Later on, during the 19th century, many people in Europe used the term culture to refer to controlling the unrefined tastes and behaviors of other people, usually those from the lower classes. The word culture then became associated with intellectual training, refined tastes, and the mannerisms of the upper class. Anthropologists use the term civilization to refer to the same thing; however, in this context, civilization also refers to the height of cultural evolution. In other words, a cultured person-to the anthropologists-is a civilized person.

Scientific discoveries that started in the 19th century pointing to a much, much, older Earth made anthropologists, scientists, and philosophers rethink their previously held views about the world and its people. New ideas were introduced on biological, social, and cultural development as scientists acquired evidence of an older planet and the changes it underwent over hundreds of millions of years.

In 1865, British naturalist Sir John Lubbock advanced the theory that human societies had gone through long stages of cultural development, with each stage marked by technological advancements. He viewed the so-called primitive societies as representing humankind's earlier cultural stages. According to Lubbock, the stages of humans included the Paleolithic (Old Stone Age), the Neolithic (New Stone Age), the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age. He also stated that other aspects of cultural development, such as morality and spirituality, go hand-in-hand with each stage of humanity's technological advancement.

In 1864, British philosopher Herbert Spencer published his work, "Principles of Biology," wherein he put forward his own theory on biological and cultural evolution. Spencer argued that everything in the world-including humans and human societies-advance toward perfection. He coined the phrase "survival of the fittest," for he believed that evolution was characterized by constant struggle for survival, and that the weak die. Stronger and more durable races and societies replace the weak ones until finally only stronger and more advanced people remain. His theory on evolution actually preceded Darwin's. Basically, he applied what was subsequently known as Charles Darwin's theory of evolution to people and societies; that they are subject to the same laws of natural selection like the plants and animals are in nature.

Other writers labeled this as Social Darwinism, which was used by western colonizers to justify their conquest of other countries. However, Herbert Spencer had always been a critic of imperialism.

Another anthropologist, the American Lewis Henry Morgan (considered as one of the founders of modern anthropology, along with Tylor) also added his own theory on cultural evolution. He believed that technological progress is the force that drives forward social, or cultural, progress; that any social change, including ideologies, institutions, or organizations, have their beginning in technological change. In his work Ancient Society, Morgan called the evolutionary stages ethical periods: Savagery, Barbarism, and Civilization. They are further divided by technological inventions, namely, fire, bow, and pottery in Savagery; metalworking, animal domestication, agriculture in Barbarism; and alphabet and writing in Civilization. Although he may not have intended his theories to advocate racism, Morgan did believe that western culture is the most advanced form of civilization, and that Europeans were the most advanced people, both culturally and biologically.

Most anthropologists during this period developed theories on cultural development that are both racist and ethnocentric (a belief that one's culture is superior to other cultures), even though they may not have advocated the use of their theories to promote racism. Nevertheless, others did use them to justify colonialism and exploitation of other people and their lands.

Technological advancements in the 20th century, especially in the fields of transportations and communications, made it easier for some aspects of culture to spread from society to society. This is diffusion. Anthropologists had also developed research methods for studying cultures of small societies. One method, known as ethnology, compares the anthropologists' findings with the findings of other studies. From there, they developed universal theories about culture.

Culture and cultural exchange have undergone rapid changes in the last several decades; technology, as Morgan theorized, had a major role in these changes. Today, television and the Internet make it very easy for us to learn how people in other parts of the world live, and we learn that customs and behaviors that seem to be very strange to others may be perfectly normal to another. This is cultural relativism-the principle that one's beliefs and activities should be interpreted in terms of one's culture.

In other words, one should respect other people's culture.

Farmville Animals - Everything You Need to Know As You Level Up

Everyone starts off in FarmVille pretty much the same way: plow, plant, harvest, and go to market. This is the best way for anyone to start making money in FarmVille, but eventually as you move up, you'll have the option of getting more types of crops as well as buildings, farm equipment, and FarmVille animals. It's important for you to decide which option(s) are best for you and your overall goals.

Having animals can really help you get a nice steady cash flow. Cows and chickens are a great option but can be a little tough to collect. You will also have to make sure you have room for them on your farm. But by having these animals you'll build up not only a steady income flow, but also a lot of experience points. Buildings are another thing you can add to your farm. Buildings will add to the overall look of your farm, give you a lot of experience points, and provide you with added storage space. Keep these things in mind when you're trying to decide how best to use your land.

As you move up in the game, you may actually find yourself planting fewer and fewer crops and instead moving more to adding buildings and animals. There is no one way for you to play FarmVille, you have a lot of options to choose from.

The only thing that is important is to make money and level up quickly and a great way to do that is to add buildings, and FarmVille animals.

The Role the Galapagos Tortoise Plays in Evolution

We are all familiar with the English naturalist Charles Darwin's famous book Evolution and impressed deeply by his opinion that all species of life in the world have descended from common ancestry by natural selection. This idea was put forward by Darwin according to his large amounts of detailed observations to different species after his 5 years travel around the world. But can you imagine that Galapagos tortoises have play a role in it? Let's see it.

On the 27th of December in 1831, Darwin started his historic voyage on the HMS Beagle. He went to many different places. During the five years' voyage, Darwin spent most time on land investigating geology and making species collections, at the same time he kept careful notes of what he observed.

HMS Beagle arrived at Galápagos islands in 1835. Marveling at the various animal life he found, he visited the islands for almost five weeks, searching for species collections. On the different geologically 13 islands, he found those giant tortoises slightly differing from island to island. In more professionally words to say, he found each of these Galápagos Islands had a tiny different subspecies of the giant tortoise. what's more to his surprise, each subspecies was uniquely fit for survival in that peculiar island environment. For instance, on island with lush pastures highlands domed shells tortoises were found; on island with arid areas tortoises who have longer legs and saddle-back shells were found. Because long legs will be a little convenient for them to climb to search food, while saddle-back shells can make them easier to reach bushes and cactus that grows high off the ground. Besides those two features, they are also smaller in size and physically need less food.

These similar difference about Galápagos tortoises appeared several times in his writings and journals, for example, " I have not as yet noticed by far...that the different islands to a considerable extent are inhabited by a different set of beings... They can distinguish the tortoises from the different islands; and that they differ not only in size, but in other characters...". These compelling evidence for evolution as well as other ones he collected during the journey played a role in the development of his theory of evolution. After another two years study and summary, he put forward his theory which is noted as one of the most greatest three discovery in 19th century.

For more information on the Galapagos Tortoise, you can check the information available online, and these will help a lot about Galapagos Tortoise.

Visiting Charles Darwin's Galapagos Islands

Charles Darwin first came across the Galapagos Islands in 1835, when returning home from an educational visit to South America where he had been collecting animals and fossils and studying the geology of the region. He spent five weeks studying the flora and the fauna of the region, but it was the giant tortoises that particularly attracted his attention. Darwin later wrote that: 'anyone with half an eye could immediately tell which of the Galapagos Islands the tortoises were from by their distinguishing characteristics'.

The tortoises can still be seen on a holiday to the Galapagos and have been known to reach up to four feet in length. However, the huge island tortoises are not the only animals which you are likely to spot on your Galapagos island holiday. The island's eco-systems means that they are home to a wealth of unique animals from hammerhead sharks to manta rays and sea lions.

Indeed it was the uniqueness of the animals that first got Darwin thinking along the lines of evolution. On surveying a couple of green iguanas he was amazed to discover that whilst they resembled the common South American green iguana, both had adapted to suit the ecological climate of the Galapagos Islands. One of the green iguanas had adapted to feed on the spiky leaved cactus plants of the region, whilst another had a flattened tail which enabled it to swim in the sea, along with a blunt snout which allowed it to scrape the algae from rocks. His study also commented on the thirteen differing species of finches on the island, whose beaks had been adapted to suit the different climes.

Whilst the brightly colored finches spotted by Darwin are still abundant on the island, the most unusual birds which you will spot on your Galapagos tour are the Frigate birds. During mating season, the male birds inflate their brightly colored red pouch in order to attract a female mate. Another resident of the Galapagos Islands also on the lookout for a female mate is Lonesome George. George can be seen at the Charles Darwin Research Station and is believed to be the last remaining tortoise on Pinta Island.

All of the islands were formed from volcanoes and evidence of this can be seen at Isabela Island. Isabela has five active volcanoes and is also home to the second largest volcanic crater in the world, Sierra Nevada. On your Galapagos Island holiday walking around Isabella gives you a feel for how the islands were created and some of the questions that plagued a god-fearing Darwin at the time. Charles Darwin believed that as the islands were volcanic they must have been recently formed, meaning that animals that dwelt there had to have originally come from someplace else. This conflicted with his Christian views in accordance to Genesis that God had created all plants and animals, and that they had not changed significantly since that time.

When on your Galapagos Island holiday you will have the amazing opportunity of coming face to face with the incredible animals and natural landscapes which helped shape Darwin's new theory and the way that people now think today.

Spontaneous Laser Light Human Cell Modification to Stem Cells For Instant Evolution

There may be a way to get human cells to modify themselves back into stem cells for instant evolution using the junk DNA in the system. In other words, we might be able to get a human being to grow gills during a space flight for use once they get to their destination, or modify lungs to accept atmospheres much different from here on Earth. Consider if you will that other planets will have different percentages of gases in their atmosphere, which could cause instant havoc for the robust, but specifically evolved human bio-system.

Interestingly enough there is an Israeli firm that is working on "coaxing cells to reverse back to stem cells" and one can only imagine the incredible breakthrough for degenerative diseases, but I say let's look into the future and see what we can really do with such technology, and let's see if we can use different frequencies and spectrums of light to help move this along. With this ability we might be able to build cities and towns at the top of the highest mountains in the world.

There are Tibetians for instance, with slightly different mitochondrial DNA which allows them to live up at high altitudes just like llamas and other animals. A slight modification and all of a sudden all those areas are not inhabitable. Also there are some people with the special ability to keep from freezing in very cold water, so, a couple of modifications here, and a few there, and we are well on our way to doing just about anything we want for specific needs.

For long-term space flight, no need to worry about bone density loss, just keep the bones tuned up and allow the body to continually regenerate. By the way such a technology might be the answer to infinite life spans too. Thus, this idea, concept, and space application is one of my two daily "original thoughts" for June 30, 2010. Could be worth 100s of millions of dollars in commercial value if acted upon.

Dinosaurs and the Flood

Dinosaur fossils are used as evidence to support the theory of evolution. However, when we look closer, we can see that the fossil record in fact supports the creationist perspective.

Dinosaurs and the Flood

Dinosaurs were buried rapidly. They are sometimes found in large numbers, and often have distinct stream orientation, which means that they were washed into position by a flood. Scientists say that floods often happened in the plains where the dinosaurs lived. However, dinosaur fossil beds sometimes stretch over thousands of square kilometers. These beds are not made from small, seasonal floods.

Some dinosaur fossils were even found in marine deposits, suggesting that they were washed out to sea. Not too long ago, a Scelidosaurus fossil was found surrounded by algae and mollusks. This fossil even had skin tissue.

Dinosaurs in the Fossil Record

The heaviest dinosaur on record is the 100-ton Argentinosaurus. The largest is a sauropod that could have been 50 meters long and 14 meters tall. These animals do not prove evolution, but rather disprove it. Animals with such diversity in size and form must have had a recognizable lineage, but this lineage cannot be found in the fossil record.

Large groups of dinosaur eggs have been found in Argentina, and scientists believe these clusters were dinosaur nurseries. However, these well-preserved eggs were buried rapidly in silt from a flood.ii An article about paleontologist Luis Chiappe and the Argentinean cluster of dinosaur eggs says this:

Scientists found so many embryonic remains that it appears catastrophe struck the nesting ground, keeping many eggs from hatching...Floods may have penetrated the porous shells and drowned the embryos.

Dinosaurs and Birds

Some say that dinosaurs did not become extinct, but rather evolved into the birds we see today. The evolution of birds is traced to dinosaurs, but there are some major problems with these assumptions. The feathered dinosaur Compsognathus has been linked to birds, but only because it has feathers.

Birds lack the embryonic thumb that dinosaurs had, making it "almost impossible" for them to be related.iv As well, the differences between the dinosaur lung and the bird lung make it unlikely that birds could have evolved from dinosaurs. Scientist John Ruben and his team studied the feathered Sinosauropteryx, and said that its "bellowlike lungs could not have evolved into the high-performance lungs of modern birds."

Fossils are the crux of the theory of evolution. However, the very fossils so crucial to evolution contain evidence to prove that dinosaurs and birds are in fact not related. The fossil evidence also shows proof of a worldwide flood, which could destroy the very foundations of the evolutionary theory.

Why Pet Animals Become Fat

Animals that live in nature constantly struggle to get their necessary amount of food resources. They have to scavenge for their daily intake of energy, necessary to survive. They are programmed by evolution to be the most efficient in getting energy into their bodies. The types of food that have the highest amounts of energy in them, are sugars and fats. That is the reason why animals (and humans as well) like the taste of it. It gives them a higher chance on survival.

However, when they are taken care of by humans, they do not need to hunt anymore, so they have to use less energy and get no exercise. At the same time, their diet chances from fruit and plants to a mixture of fruits, plants, meat,  sugar and protein rich, types of food. Sometimes they find this food inside and around the house by accident, but sometimes the owners of animals, or visitors, want to be nice to an animal and give them some extra food. Humans do this in order to get liked by an animal, to get an animal to move into a certain direction, or just to get rid of food that they don't like or cannot finish. The result is that an animal eats way more than it needs as a daily intake, and does not need to exercise for it. Humans are mainly motivated to exercise by social pressure and thin role models.

However, animals don't have this mental pressure, and will just sit back and enjoy the food to the max. Their body is programmed to preserve as much energy as possible, and transform it into body fat. This, so they would have reserves in worse times, such as winter. However, reserves are unnecessary when animals live around humans. They have a constant supply of food, easy access to it, and even when they are missing a meal every now and then, when they get skinny, pet animals usually get a larger portion of food for a while. Hardly any pet animal dies of being underfed. However, an increasing amount of animals are dying of obese related causes. Fat animals have a much shorter life span than fit and exercising animals. They lack having predators hunting on them like they would when living in nature, but dangers to their lives exist in the form of excess. Animals getting fat only serves them to look cute, or more alike their owner indeed.

JanWillem Vanmeneer writes about various things about his live and society in general. Recently, he researched the reasons behind fat animals. As he likes to look at fat animals, but does not want them to actually be fat, he collects fat cow creamers.

How to Clean Stuffed Animals Without Ruining Them

If you have a special stuffed animal, whether it's a much loved child's toy or a perfect decoration for your living room, it's a shame to watch it give in to the ravages of time. Dirt and dust are pervasive, impossible to stop annoyances, but it is possible to clean up your favorite dirty teddy bear! And you can do it without ruining the toy too. Water and teddy bears aren't mutually exclusive. Whether the plush animal is only a little dusty, or extremely soiled, these tricks and tips will insure you never lose another stuffed animal to the ravages of dirt again.

"A Little Dusty"

Dust is unavoidable, and so cleaning some off before the plush animal's status becomes code red is a good idea. This is actually quite easy, just get a damp cloth or duster to wipe way the accumulated dust. You can even use a disinfecting cloth to wipe away any unwanted germs. If just cleaning the surface isn't enough for you, another great approach is to toss the plush toy into the dryer with a couple of scented dryer sheets. All you need to do is to set the temperature on high in order to kill germs, and let it go for 10 minutes. This way both their insides and outsides have been freshened up. You'll feel like the toy is new again!

"I Need a Bath"

If your teddy bear ends up on the floor a lot, then it probably needs a better cleaning then the ones above. There are several options here. First, you can let the plush toy soak overnight with some softener and detergent, then throw them in the dryer for that fresh smell. Or, you can just simply throw them in the washing machine. To keep the toy safe, put it in a pillow case and knot the case closed. Then, so as not to damage the stuffed animal, set the washer on a gentle cycle with cold water, and always make sure you dry it on low. A low heat setting for a half and hour will be plenty for the toy, and then when you take them out, straighten the teddy bear in case any of its stuffing has shifted out of place.

"I Need a Miracle"

These toys have had a hard life. But even covered in dirt and unidentifiable gunk, there are ways to clean them. Those terrible stains don't have to be irreversible. Whether they are beloved childhood toys or your favorite Valentine's Day present from a loved one, miracles do happen. Make sure you get some carpet cleaner and a toothbrush. The toothbrush is a good size brush for delicate toys, as anything bigger could ruin them. This is especially good for spotting stains. Just squirt a little cleaner on the brush and gently scrub on the worst spots. Once you have done this, rinse the plush animal in cold water, until the water runs clear. Then you can put the stuffed toy in the dryer for 10 minutes. It will most likely not be completely dry, but that's okay, as then you can let it air dry. Don't forget to use a disinfecting cloth, which is especially important if its toy for a small child.

So as you can see, there are many ways to clean a stuffed animal. Even when it seems the toy may be beyond saving, don't give up! If it's important to you, it might just be worth a little elbow grease. You'll be happy when your favorite toys are fresh, clean, and just like new again!

A Solution For All Problems - The Miraculous Scientific Dream Interpretation

I know you read my words and you believe that everything I write is very interesting, but you cannot believe that dream interpretation according to the scientific method can help you as much as I have been showing you in my articles.

The internet is full of sites about dream interpretation, which don't really help anyone, because their interpretations are subjective opinions. They don't know how to translate the dream language.

Imagine that you didn't know how to speak a foreign language, but you would still try to interpret its meaning...

Could your imagination or all your notions about everything else help you understand the meaning of a foreign language, without having studied it and without learning how to translate it into your native language?

This is what all dream interpreters do. Without any real knowledge about the meaning of the dream language, they give you their opinion about the meaning of your dreams.

Their words are very beautiful and many times their interpretations seem to make sense, but they are only suppositions, which are very far from being the real translation of the dream language. You'll be able to verify this once you are able to decipher the mysterious dream language, and you'll learn how to exactly translate it into words that you can understand.

You'll see the difference which exists between all false interpretations and the real translation of the dream messages, because you'll observe that the dream messages give you precious and real information about crucial matters of your life.

Exactly because dream interpretation has been so distorted by so many impostors for centuries and centuries until today, nobody gives any importance to the meaning of dreams.

However, when you learn the dream language, which was discovered by the psychiatrist Carl Jung and simplified by me, who continued his research discovering more, you'll see that your dreams help you very much. All dreams are full of important messages that try to protect you from all dangers, and help you find solutions for all your problems.

Your dreams are produced by the wise unconscious mind, an organ directed by God. God is a superior brain that keeps trying to transform our wild nature into a perfect and wise nature.

If you are atheist, you must understand that almost everything that you have learned about the animal evolution on our planet based on Charles Darwin's theory, is false.

He discovered that the human being is in fact an animal, a primate, and this discovery is remarkable, but his theory about the natural selection and the evolution of the species is totally wrong, which has been proved by the biologist and behaviorist Konrand Lorenz in 1974.

Lorenz received the Nobel Prize thanks to his research concerning animal behavior and the learning process existent in each species, concluding that there are several behavioral programs already prepared in each organism, before they are born, which allow them to be able to survive in a hostile environment where they have so many enemies, before having the time to learn anything.

The preparation of so many behavioral programs is an unexplainable mystery, which clearly shows us that the animal evolution in our planet was already programmed. Nothing happened by chance.

Only a wise brain could prepare all these programs and organize so well the functionalism of nature on Earth, with such a big variety of animals and plants.

The appearance of this huge variety of species on Earth is also another unexplainable phenomenon, especially because our planet is too young. When did all the transformations that allowed the appearance of so many different species happen?

The discovery of the existence of God and the possibility to be in contact with Him through the unconscious mind that produces your dreams is something extraordinary, that you had never imagined possible.

When you learn the dream language, you'll see that all dream messages have a philosophical or religious background, besides working like medicine for your brain. You'll then realize that the dream wisdom comes from a wise brain that doesn't belong to the human being, because of its extraordinary superiority.

This wisdom will save you, and show you how you can successfully solve all the problems of your life, even if you are a victim of terror, and you are in the most profound despair.

Only the saintly wisdom of the unconscious mind can put an end to terrorism, violence, immorality and all the horrors of our absurd world. You'll verify how true this statement is, feeling grateful for having so much protection, and for having access to so much knowledge.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung's research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to exactly translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.
