Evidence For Evolution - Endogenous Retroviruses

Of all the evidence for evolution, some of the most compelling and irrefutable are the endogenous retroviruses. These are viruses that have embedded their code into germ line cells (sperm and egg) and thus become inactive but pass along their genetic information by inheritance. They act as genetic fingerprints that can indicate how closely related two organisms are.

Think of an incident of plagiarism; one author accuses another of plagiarizing his work due to similarities between the two. Is it an open and shut case? Not necessarily; it could be that the two just arrived at the same idea at the same time. However, one piece of evidence that would prove plagiarism is shared typos: if one author misspelled a word and the alleged plagiarist has the same error in his work, it would be strong evidence that the accused party had copied the words of the other, mistakes and all.

This is similar to how endogenous retroviruses work. At some point in the distant past, an ancestor organism was infected by a virus which then attacked and embedded itself in the reproductive cells, and became inactive as a virus. It's code was then passed on to the offspring, which continued to pass this genetic "typo" on to all of its ancestors.

Humans share several of these ERVs in common with chimpanzees, in the same place on the genome, in the same order. We share less with gorillas as they are more distantly related. And less still with orangutans and Old World monkeys as they are even less distantly related.

Family trees of organisms are built using ERV data, and the trees match up with the data from the fossil record. This is incontrovertible evidence for common ancestry; humans and chimps share an ancestor about 6 million years ago, regardless of fossils found.

And other animals ERV family trees match up with the fossil record as well. These shared mistakes in the genome present some of the most spectacular evidence and confirmation for the theory of evolution.

Evolution Versus Intelligent Design: Evidence Without Prejudice

Evolution, based on 150 years of combining evidence from many scientific disciplines, cues on the accepted disciplines of geology, biology, paleontology, genetics, ecology, microbiology and behavioral sciences. Evolution advocacies think to withstand scrutiny from either religious or nonreligious policy makers, as concluded by thousands of scientists and agreed upon by an almost equal number of theist advocacies--disbelief also about 50/50 in the different disciplines.

Intelligent Design advocates have promoted the 'anthropic principle' for thousands of years; today, they receive almost equal support from amongst both religionist and scientist supporters, but only by about 50% amongst the two disciplines. The 'Anthropic principle' connotes: this universe and tiny earth were designed solely to support mankind in his superior role as we recognize it.

Obviously, neither brain trust, evolutionist or creationist, predominates one way or another. Advocacy of either extreme, however, does not always mandate superior evidence. But in sentience reality, evolution is obvious in day-to-day experience and is beyond challenge. By the same token, no person has the intellect to deny another's declaration of God belief; which declaration is true in its mere utterance. Therefore, we must search beyond sentience, emotion, and intuition to find the truth in such heart-felt declarations.

Recent studies account and correlate the geologic, astrophysical, evolutionary, biologic, and biblical ages into a harmonious chronology of our Universe as we are able to sense its magnitude. Few would be able to fault the immensity and time-line efficiency thus produced from the evidence in all disciplines susceptible to space and time. And we are aware of mankind's 'time invention' as a measure of earth's behavior and to secure his place in a timeless universe.

Matter is the arbitrator of all masses in the physical world and evolution is inherent in matter's quantum mechanics characteristic. Within the atomic exchanges, brain machinations are source for all polytheism or monotheism disciplines; in the depths of mental chemistry, faith rises as inherence in the belief thus developed. Surely, those with basic evaluation skills can discern the relative truth problematic in each position of enlightenment. Realizing the weakness in mere declarations of evolution hypothesis and in legal-historical assumptions, it behooves thinkers to move beyond theory and intuition, to consult available evidence, and to syllogistically test traditional rationale.

Evolutionary theory suggests, over the passage of several light years, the processes of microevolution (natural selection) and macroevolution (speciation) are responsible for the millions of fungi, animal, and plant species once lived or now living on earth. Unfortunately, fossilized remains do not exist in handy enough occurrence to prove the evolution hypothesis. But the absence of evidence does not preclude the existence of evidence. Therefore, many, with an axe to grind, wildly debate the Evolution/Intelligent Design theories as it might pertain to mortality or immortality issues raised in 'anthropic principle' or accidental element preponderance. Within our calculations and wishful thinking lies a prepotency to error.

Biblical interpretation is a prime example of miscalculation and prepotency to error. Alert to psychological incentives guiding man's immortality yearnings, we count the many miscalculations in tradition's Daniel Chapters alignment and interpretation: the Chapters reordered as follows: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 8, 5, 6, 9, 11, and 12. Correct assembly reveals a surprising biblical Beast identity. Correct identity leads to an early date for John's Revelation and on to correct arrangement of New Testament writings, II Timothy being the last written during Parousia, in A.D. 68. Thus, we reveal two errors in traditional thinking concerning Daniel, John, and 'last days' exposition. Is it not an incentive to discover more about the faulty logic in theist/atheist debate?

Creationism Vs Evolution - Any Scientific Evolution Evidence?

It was not long ago, in the creation vs. evolution debate, that scientists thought that Darwin's theory of evolution was backed by science. That has changed drastically over the last 20 or 30 years. Many scientists are asking the question "Is there any scientific evidence left to back up the theory?"

As we look at the scientific evidence that has been gathered over the last few decades, literally every so called proof of evolution has simply evaporated. If we look at a dozen or so of these 'proofs' that have been used to show the validity of the theory, virtually every one is considered unsound. We will look at a few of these 'icons of evolution' and see what has happened to them.

What are the Icons of Evolution? They are simply the illustrations that have been given over the last 15 decades that have given evolution credence. They are the charts and illustrations that have helped convince people that evolution is a valid theory.

But do they really help the theory?

D. V. Ager (former president of the British Geological Association) summarized the problem when he said' "It must be significant that nearly all the evolutionary stories I learned as a student... has now been debunked..." He then went on to explain how even the fossil record itself did not support the theory of evolution.

There are about 11 or 12 of these icons that have been used as illustrations of evolution. Jonathan Wells(author of Icons of Evolution) popularized the phrase.

Among these Icons has been the idea of homology... an idea that says that because there are similarities in various creatures, then they evolved from the same creature. The examples that have been used are the bat wing, the porpoise flipper, the leg of a horse and the arm of a human. Because there are some similarities (and some real differences as well), this is supposed to imply that they evolved from the same creature.

There are obvious problems with this way of thinking. There are numerous similarities between all kinds of things that have nothing to do with evolution. (Many creatures have two eyes but have no evolutionary connection at all).

Many animals have four legs. For those that believe in intelligent design, this is simply an indication that the designer has determined that four legs is generally most efficient.. So similarities in different creatures favor the idea of evolution no more than they do intelligent design. Homology is no longer a valid icon of evolution.

Another icon of evolution has been the 'evolution of the horse'. Most of us have seen the chart with the illustration of the 'evolution of the horse'.

It has been well illustrated by many scientists that this 'horse evolution' is no longer valid. This includes even those that believe in evolution. There are a number of reasons that this 'horse evolution' is no longer accepted as being valid (See Well's book to get more information on this).

Whether it is Darwin's tree of evolution, the human evolution chart,Darwin's finches, or any of the other 'facts' that supported evolution in the past, all of these icons have been discredited.

The evidence in the creation vs. evolution debate has heated up. Most people are unaware that there is no valid scientific evolution evidence available that can support the theory.

Every one of the icons of evolution have been disproved and discarded by well known evolutionists. Unfortunately, all of them are still included in textbooks and taught in our schools and universities today.

The Big Bang Theory - Evidence of the Start of Cosmos and Human Evolution

What is The Big Bang Theory! What do we mean when we talk of The Big Bang Theory? In Concept The Big Bang Theory would mean something related to the start of the Cosmos... the beginning of the Evolution itself.

The Big Bang Theory came to be accepted by scientists only about three decades ago as an irrefutable fact of Creationism. Does it mean that it is only The big bang Theory which gave birth to the existing Cosmos? Yes! The Concept "The Big Bang Theory" explains to us how the Cosmos was created in the first stage.

The concept... The Big Bang Theory can be best understood by the spiritualists of the highest order. It is not merely a Concept or a Theory (The Big Bang Theory) which can be easily understood by the use of the senses alone (as the senses have their own limitations in the physical manifested world).

The Big Bang Theory has its origination in a domain which is much beyond the comprehension of the senses and the mind. It is for the Enlightened beings to be able to understand in absolute order the concept of The Big Bang Theory.

Before we elaborate further... we need to dive deep into the realms of Spirituality. Starting from the basics we need to understand that The big bang Theory is deeply related to God the Almighty. For the atheist it may be almost impossible to correctly interpret and understand The Concept of The Big Bang Theory. Why?

Why does The big bang occur at all... in the realms of Spirituality the only existence which has any base in the whole of Cosmos is God the Almighty, the Creator himself. Nothing beyond the existence of God the Almighty exists. Whatever exists from the point of view of the senses is ephemeral in nature. Nothing has any permanent significance in the realms of Spirituality. Truthfully speaking it is God and only God which exists and manifests in the whole of Cosmos.

Why so? Understanding the Concept of the basic building block of the whole Cosmos... the Concept and Theory of atoms and molecules... we shall realize that the whole Cosmos is only built up of clusters of atoms and molecules. The total structure of the Cosmos is just a gaseous formation... in which only clusters of atoms and molecules exist. There is nothing solid in the whole of Cosmos.

It is only when perceived from the point of view of the senses and the mind that the solidification of the gaseous formation seems to exist. And beyond the realms of the senses and the mind exists... the World of God, the Almighty! Does it mean that God the Almighty is a cluster of atoms and molecules? In a way yes! Let me explain further...

Assuming that only God the Almighty exists in the whole of Cosmos... then as explained in the Bhagavad Gita... the most sacred document existing on Mother Earth... the size of God in its primordial state before The Big Bang occurs in Theory is of the size of half a thumb. And what is this half the size of a thumb we call as God the Almighty?

The definition of God the Almighty as given in the Bhagavad Gita is the sum total of all purified Souls (Atmans) existing in the whole of Cosmos at a given point of time and these purified Souls combine together to form the size of half a thumb. Imagine the vast cluster of energy this small size of God the Almighty may withhold! And unable to sustain this massive energy for long... this half the size of a thumb what we call as God the Almighty explodes. And it explodes with a Big Bang giving birth to The Big Bang Theory!

This Big Bang... the explosion which is defined by scientists as The Big Bang Theory results in the creation of the Cosmos... a Cosmos consisting of many universes and each universe consisting of many galaxies and Milky Ways... and one galaxy consisting of billions of stars and solar systems... and one star like the sun having a few planets revolving around it. And out of the many planets... Our planet Mother Earth... the moment it has conducive environment worthy of living... the Souls manifest one after another and starts the journey of life on Mother Earth!

The Big Bang Theory... the Concept in itself is irrefutable and undeniable for the basic reason that no other Theory or Concept holds good. The Enlightened masters like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed knew of this irrefutable Concept and Theory (The Big Bang Theory) the moment they became enlightened. For an Enlightened Soul to be able to understand the Concept of Spirituality from the beginning to the end of Cosmos becomes a reality.

The BigBang Theory has its roots in the Concept that the entire purified Souls combine together to form something we know as God the Almighty. And this God the Almighty unable to contain itself for long because of the inherent massive energy within explodes with a Big Boom and this results in the start of a new Cosmos... a new journey!

Proceeding further we need to understand that these purified Souls (Atmans) which have now scattered all over the Cosmos start gaining impurities on their cosmic journey. And it is only after the dross within is removed from the Souls that they shall become free forever from manifesting further bodies.

As the whole Cosmos cools down gradually... the system gives birth to many planets and out of these planets some of them become conducive for beginning of life with passage of time. And what is this life we are talking of? Are we talking of the insect life, the plant life, the animal life or the world of human beings themselves?

Every Soul (Atman) like the metal embedded in any metal ore cannot separate itself from the impurities contained therein. And to cleanse itself of the impurities... every Soul (Atman) requires a body. And thus starts the cosmic journey of a Soul (an Atman)!

The journey of this Soul (Atman) starts as an amoeba (single cell formation)... The first manifestation in the cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations... ending with the form of a human being (the last stage in the series of various manifestations) finally to gain Salvation and come back to its original pristine form. The moment cosmic journey of all Jiva (life forms) end with the Dissolution of the Cosmos... starts a new Cosmos confirming The BigBang Theory.

The journey from first manifestation to the 8.4 millionth manifestation explains the Concept of Evolution as detailed by Charles Darwin. A long cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations and a total period of 96.4 million earthly years is necessitated before the Soul can come back to its original pristine form and it is in the last stages as a human being that the Soul shall gain Salvation... liberation from the cycle of various manifestations for ever and finally become free until the start of a new Cosmos with a new Big Boom (The Big Bang Theory).

We need to understand here that once having come back to its original pristine pure form... this purified Soul remains in its purified state until the collapse of the Cosmos occurs. It is at the time of the collapse (Dissolution) of the Cosmos (Pralaya as we call it in Hinduism) that all purified Souls combine together again resulting in The Big Bang (confirming again the existence of The BigBang Theory).

Evidence For Evolution - A Nested Hierarchy

One of the overarching pieces of evidence for the evolution of life on earth is the idea of a nested hierarchy. There are several ways to categorize different items, but things related by a common ancestor will show a particular pattern of categorization.

For instance, let's consider automobiles. Automobiles could be classified by make, then by model, then by year. Or they could be classified by year, then by make, then by model. Or any other myriad classification schemes, all of which would be correct. If two people start with a list of cars, they will both come up with perfectly valid yet very different classification ideas. This is because automobiles are each created independently; while they share an "evolution" of sorts as far as technology goes, each car is created as its own separate entity.

But compare this with languages. Assuming you are familiar with language, you would classify Spanish and French together as Romance languages, and English and Scots under Old English, and Old English under West Germanic. Languages can only be classified in one way, and two different people starting with the same data will arrive at the same classification scheme.

This is called a nested hierarchy, and alone is enough to show strong evidence of common ancestry.

Life on earth shows this type of pattern of groups nested within groups nested within groups. Of the animals with a backbone, there are mammals. Within mammals, there are marsupials and placentals. Within placentals are cows, and bats, etc on down to individual species. While some of the details of specific family groups are still controversial, life shows this unique pattern which alone is strongly indicative of common descent.

Following from this principle, biologists can construct family trees of different groups which aid in classification and predictions in fields as diverse as embryology and paleontology. For instance, the family tree of baleen and toothed whales predicts a common ancestor around 35 million years ago that has features of both, and this fossil has been found.

Nested hierarchy alone is almost enough evidence to strongly imply common descent, if not directly the idea of the Darwinian mechanism of random mutation coupled with natural selection.
