Evolution, Some Facts and Some Theories

Evolution facts, fictions, theories, and rather is it a fact a theory or a fanciful story is hotly debated. Facts are something that can be tested and regularly observed. So, is evolution a fact? Well first you will have to hotly debate the meaning of evolution. If you took a poll of the general population, asking them to define evolution you would likely get hundreds of responses and some would be vastly different from the others. A simple definition is change or changes that make things better suited to their environment. You do not even have to be talking biology. Think about the evolution of the computer or other forms of technology. It is perfectly observable and testable that technology has evolved or changed to be better suited to the human needs.

There is evolution in biology that can be observed, and even conservative creationists will call it a fact. That is the form of evolution that can be called survival of the fittest or natural selection. ( Maybe unnatural selection when humans start breeding animals for certain traits.) It has been easily and frequently seen in nature, especially when a species needs to improve, or for whatever reason, is in a new environment than the one for which it was formally adapted. Anytime a small group within a species has an advantage, it will start to reproduce faster and a new variation of the species will likely emerge. If members of a species are different, but it gives them no advantage they will be reabsorbed back into the majority. Change within a species is only likely to happen if the changed group has a really good advantage. Otherwise they will not be able to weather the competition.

The camel and llama are obviously various of the same species. They can even interbreed, but usually just through artificial insemination because of the size difference. However, camelids come in different forms because at some point, some have adapted, changed, evolved, or been naturally selected to survive in different climates.

Now, using the facts we know about evolution, lets think about evolution theories. They are theories because nobody has seen them happen. Some people believe they are possible, however a lot of their theories go against the scientific facts. The idea of their being hundreds or more variations within a species is quite plausible. Just look at all the different breeds of dogs and all the types of equine that can interbreed. However, there is a problem with the idea that over time, genes can just appear in an animal, when they aren't already there as though something is beaming them to the earth. When there are variations in species, the changes are limited by the genes already present in the animals. New genes would be necessary for a fish to start laying bird and reptile eggs and birds and reptiles to start laying mammal eggs and mammals to give birth to other kinds of mammals. Nobody has ever seen that happen. Nobody has even seen a rat give birth to a mouse. The genes just aren't there, and as far as I know, there is no store where animals can buy different kinds of genes for their children.

The facts that we know about evolution, natural selection, survival of the fittest, and the reasons they occur, make the idea of single celled bacteria evolving eventually into humans is actually backwards evolutions that does not make sense. Think about it. Bacteria is found on the highest mountains, the deepest oceans, inside of other creatures, in the coldest parts of the earth, in the air, in solid rocks, some kinds even live in volcano larvae. The microscopic water bear is said to even be able to survive a trip through space in a dormant form. So, can somebody tell me, what was bacteria adapting to that made it evolve? In terms of survival of a species, what advantage does complex organism have, that would have allowed them not be reabsorbed in the gene pool? Single celled organism are the most indestructible life form I know of and I can not think of any reason for them to change. In order for the observable laws of evolution to apply, the world would have to have started with humans. (After all, without shelter and technology humans are the least adaptable species on earth.) Then, some of humans who were best at reproducing and surviving the elements, evolved into bacteria.
